Before being offered the opportunity to test a BOCO Gear cap, I’ll admit I hadn’t heard the product name. A few short months later, however, and I’m a big fan! Here’s a quick introduction to this fantastic brand!

BOCO Gear produces a line of performance gear for endurance athletes, specializing in technical headgear and accessories. Although I couldn’t find any information confirming my theory, I believe the name is a porte-manteau of the brand’s hometown of BOulder, COlorado. BOCO. Get it? (But, again, this is just speculation!)

Products

BOCO Gear has a number of product lines, including:

  • Technical Trucker
  • Visors
  • Run Hats (including Tri, Endurance, and Elite)
  • Cold Weather Gear (toques, beanies, headbands and neck gaiters)
  • And more…!

What really makes BOCO Gear stand out is that their products are fully customizable. Check out the BibRave cap:

The BibRave-branded BOCO Run Hat features:

  • Custom colours (orange and white)
  • Front logo
  • Hashtag
  • Brim design

Plus, it has all the things you expect from a run hat, such as lightweight wicking materials in the top and front panels, Dry Tech polyester side panels to keep the head cool, a polyester mesh wicking sweatband (which I am in particular need of!), and an adjustable back snap buckle.

Of course, they have their existing line of products, too. I’m particularly fond of the Colorado Collection, since I fell in love with Colorado when I ran the Platte River Half Marathon last year!

I’ve been wearing BOCO Gear for a few of my recent runs and races, and will be providing a full product review soon!

BMO Vancouver MarathonWhen I signed up for the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon, it never occurred to me that I might end up running the full. Having only done two full marathons before – Vancouver and Honolulu (both in 2014) – another marathon wasn’t on my radar. Until some of the wily women I run with convinced that we should tackle it together. So, after a few weeks of hemming and hawing, I upgraded to the BMO Vancouver Marathon. That’s how I got here.

Grouse Snowshoe Grind

The weather was perfect, the snow conditions just right, the company an absolute delight, and the organization a bit suspect for the 2017 Grouse Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run. Running for my second consecutive year, I had a lot of expectations for this event, and brought along my own ‘crew’ to share the experience. By and large, the Grouse Snowshoe Grind lived up to its reputation, but there are definitely some areas for improvement. Having said that, let me talk about all the good stuff – because there was lots of it! (more…)

I’m very excited about what 2017 has in store. While I’ve already written about some of the races I’m looking forward to this year, I’ve only mentioned in passing the three organizations that I’m proudly representing. So, without further ado, let me tell you about my 2017 Ambassadorship Trifecta – West Van Run, BibRave, and Run Laughlin! (more…)

When I got home today from a long, rainy run – I realized that the only part of me that wasn’t completely drenched was my underwear. And that, my friends, is just one reason why Aerodaks is a new favourite piece of running gear!

But, you may be wondering, What is Aerodaks? I’m glad you asked!

Runsip

Have you ever been in a race, and you slow down at the aid station to grab some hydration…and it all goes horribly wrong? The water sloshes all over your hands (maybe soaking your gloves), you try treating it like a shooter and choke on the drink, or it’s a sports drink that ends up making you sticky for the rest of the race. No? Come on…you know it’s happened. It has to me, anyway!

Enter a creative solution to your mid-race hydration challenges – Runsip!

North County Wine Run

Disclaimer: I received a free entry to the North County Wine Run as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

Back in April, I registered for the North County Wine Run and agreed to travel down to Battle Ground, WA with fellow BibRavePro, Brie. This is the story of our Washington Road Trip!

If you want an ‘intro’ to the race, be sure to read my post on 5 Reasons to Run the North County Wine Run. I won’t review them point-by-point, but suffice it to say that the run lived up to expectations!
