Why You Should Run Laughlin (Half Marathon)

It’s just a month away…the second annual Laughlin/Bullhead Half Marathon (and 5K) aka Run Laughlin! Let me tell you why you should definitely run this year – and I’ll even provide a discount code for you!

Last year, I ran the inaugural Laughlin/Bullhead Half Marathon, which happened to fall on my birthday. It was an awesome birthday celebration, and a great vacation to boot!

Why You Should Run Laughlin!

New Course

Much as I loved the race last year, I’ll admit the course was challenging. It started with a long, steady incline, fighting strong winds the whole way. While the downhill soon thereafter was a welcome relief, I know folks found it pretty tough. In 2016, the course starts on higher ground, eliminating the toughest part of the race. There’s still some elevation, but nothing like last year! That alone makes me want to run it again!

2 States & 2 Time Zones

One of the coolest things about this race is crossing the Davis Dam (normally closed to the public) into Arizona – and jumping ahead an hour! Don’t worry…you cross back and gain that hour once again. But if you’ve ever wanted to run multiple states, or you’re trying to do a half marathon in all 50 states…here’s your chance to get TWO for the price of ONE! What a deal!

Don’t Forget the 5k!

Not quite ready to run a half marathon? Don’t fret! There’s a 5k distance as well. Or if you’ve got a family member looking to run, why not sign them up for a 5k?!

Laughlin & Local Attractions

Laughlin is a fascinating little casino town on the Colorado River. Like a mini-Vegas, but much less chaotic and easily walkable. In addition, there a lots of local attractions with driving distance. Desert Sunsets

We get some fabulous sunsets in Vancouver, here on the West Coast of Canada. But the colours of a desert sunset are unbeatable. (The pictures really don’t do it justice…)
