One of my 2015 runs?

2014 was my marathon year – my #42for42. Now that we are a couple of weeks into January, what about 2015?

Well, I’m a sucker for earlybird prices, so I’ve already booked a few races for this year. But I’m pondering a few more…what do you think?

CONFIRMED!
The Chilly Chase Half Marathon – January 25 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
I’ve never run a TRY Event race before, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Just a few days away…race report to follow!

First Half Half Marathon – February 15 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
This will be my 4th First Half. Last year’s race was my half marathon PB – can I beat it? Thanks to Forerunners for sponsoring!

West Van Run – March 1 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
Last year, the West Van Run was wet and wild last year – snow and freezing rain! But such a great experience – and my 10k PB! There’s a new course this year, so I’m very excited!

UPDATE: Shamrock’n 7 Miler – March 15 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
Added this one just because – something new!

Modo 8K – March 22 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
I’m a long-time Modo member and this race has it all – Stanley Park, Seawall, and an awesome medal. Bring it on!

UPDATESun Run – April 19
I skipped the Sun Run in 2014 because it was just a week before my very first marathon. I have now signed up to join the company team!

Ottawa Half Marathon – May 24 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
Destination race (i.e. TravelRun)! I saw a tweet that the half was 87% sold out, so I jumped in! Really looking forward to a visit home, and spending time with friends and family in Ottawa. Haven’t been to the nation’s capital for…many, many years.

UPDATE: Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon – June 28 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
Well, this one wasn’t even on my list – but I have decided to focus on fundraising again for the BC Cancer Foundation in memory of my mom, who passed away in 2013.

UPDATESan Francisco Half Marathon – July 26 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
I checked with our friends in San Fran, and we now a place to stay. Yay! Another TravelRun in my near future!

UPDATELaughlin Half Marathon – December 5 COMPLETE! Read my RACE REPORT
I’m in! How exciting to be part of a brand new race! Bring it on!!

PROBABLY…
Sun Run – April 19 (Confirmed!)

BMO Vancouver Half Marathon – May 3
I haven’t yet decided, but I think I’ll go ahead and run the half again this year…stay tuned!

Ambleside Mile – June 6
Ran my first one-mile race in 2014. Here’s my motivation to continue with my speed work!

Eastside 10K – September 19
Because of the races under consideration…I haven’t committed to this race yet.

UNDER CONSIDERATION
San Francisco Half Marathon – July 26 (Confirmed!)
We haven’t been to SF in about 5 years. Is it time for another visit? I like the idea of running one of the two half marathons in that amazing city!

Maui Half Marathon – September 20
Reason #1 that I might not do the Eastside 10K. But if the Canadian dollar stays as low as it currently is, we may need to reconsider another Hawaii trip…

Kauai Half Marathon – September 6
Reason #2 – well, you get the picture. I obviously wouldn’t do both Maui and Kauai. However, one of my running buddies commented – why would I want to travel to Hawaii in September, when the weather is amazing in Vancouver. Good point. Maybe I will reconsider for the winter of 2016…

Laughlin Half Marathon – on my birthday! (Confirmed!)
Last but not least – I’m kind of pumped about this race! Laughlin is at the southern tip of Nevada, and this is their inaugural event. It has two states, two time zones, and a dam! PLEASE visit their Kickstarter Campaign to learn more – and contribute if you can!

    Hey Bradley,
Thanks for inspiring list and dates/info!! I did 12 races for 2012 and some of my favourites were TriEvents (including the Chilly Chase!), from my experience they’re not too big and super fun.

    • Hey Holly – thanks for dropping by! Not sure how many races I’ll end up doing this year, but I thought it would be fun to try a couple of new ones! Maybe I’ll see you at one of the events??

Bradley you should check out the inaugural Hypo Half, It has a cool medal and it is along Jericho beach where we often run. I will also be doing the Green Sock Half in March, another Try Event.
